Catching Up: Discussion Circles, Albany Visit & Podcast Update

13 November 2025
in News

Hey everyone,

Just a quick check-in as we head into Yom Kippur. Wishing you a gentle, meaningful fast however you mark the day, I hope it offers some space to pause, reflect, and recharge.
Here’s what’s happening on my end:

Out & About

Last week, I had the chance to present at the LIFT Legislative Breakfast on Long Island. It was a great space to connect with lawmakers and community members and to center the real stories of families and youth. Grateful to be part of it.

Albany, Tuesday, Sept 30

I’ll be in Albany for the Advance Institute, hosted by The Arc of NY, the Alliance for Innovation & Inclusion, and the CDD.
I’ll be on a panel about storytelling in advocacy spaces with systems leadership and decision-makers. I’m expecting folks from OPWDD, policymakers, and other key movers and shakers to be in the room.

If there’s something you’d like me to uplift or bring into the space let me know.

Dadvocating Training – Monday, Sept 29 at 10:00 AM EST

The day before Albany, I’m co-leading a New York State–wide training on father and paternal engagement in systems and services. This will be a chance to highlight the role of dads as caregivers and advocates and to build more father-inclusive programs

Peace,
Simcha

Hi friends, I hope you’re all enjoying the holiday season and not blowing too much on Cyber Monday sales. This time of year can make all of us a little compulsive with the clicking. Since it’s Giving Tuesday, if you’re able to throw in a few shekels to help cover the cost of our coaching...
